Hi Owen,
I so hear you! Typically, during the week neither N. nor I have the time (and really the nerve) to spend more time in the kitchen than necessary, prepping a full fledged menu or meal. Not to say that what we cook Mo-Fr tastes less good, it’s just “of a different list” [if that makes sense]. A lot of pasta in its various forms, quick korma curry and the like – nothing really takes more than 15-20 minutes. On the weekends and especially when we have friends over, then we’re talking a whole different story…

You can count me out of the ‘graceful family chefs’ category. My family wouldn’t touch a bite of anything but spaghetti or KFC. Often, since they are finicky, they are left to figure out their own dinner and I prepare what I like despite their up-turned noses.

I think I need to grow some sorrel. You’ve mentioned it several times, yet I’ve never even eaten it as far as I know, let alone grown it. This post was great and I gave you a bit of credit for my own “throw it together” dinner tonight.
